SeriesLeah Purcell CollectionShowBlack Chicks TalkingDateBetween 11th December 2002 and 21st December 2002DescriptionBlack Chicks Talking is an original work devised by Leah Purcell and Sean Mee, transforming real life stories of Australian Indigenous women into a work of fiction. The collaboration between La Boite Theatre, QPAC and Bungabura Productions marked the first time these three organizations had came together. The production premiered in Brisbane, then in 2003 was part of the Sydney Festival and the Perth International Arts Festival. The ten women interviewed and painted are Jacqui Katona, Tracey Moffat, Deborah Mailman, Rachel Perkins, Cilla Malone, Kathryn Hay, Ningali Lawford, Charmaine Clarke, Sharon Finnan and Frances Rings.
