Date11th December 2022DescriptionThe Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir performed Early Romantic Era and Baroque musical arrangements as well as German sacred poetry (hymns) in Australian First Nations Languages. This performance preserved and presented the languages of the remote Central Desert Communities from the Northern Territory.
The night was performed in five stages. The first stage featured five sacred songs celebrating the Western Arrarnta Language and the second featured five sacred songs celebrating the Pitjantjatjara Language. 'Rounds, German Folk Tunes and Teaching Language' was followed by 'Songs for All Of Us' which included I Am Australian and Waltzing Matilda, both performed in the Pitjantjatjara Language.
